Safeguarding
Keeping children safe is our priority
Make Believe is dedicated to providing a safe, secure and friendly environment for our students to learn. We are committed to providing training in the performing arts in a safe and protected environment.
A vital part of our Child Health and Safety procedure is that each school is run by a Principal, whose role is to supervise rather than teach. This ensures that while tuition is delivered by our specialist teachers, the Principal is free to visit and observe all of the classes at the school.
Make Believe requires all of its principals, teachers and assistants to have enhanced clearance via the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) and our policy is often used as an example of Best Practice where Child Protection issues are concerned.
We understand we have a duty of care to safeguard all children involved in our activities and believe that All children have a right to protection and the needs of disabled children and others who may be particularly vulnerable will always be taken into account.
Parents can be confident that We will always ensure the safety and protection of all children involved at any of our schools, events and productions.
