Safeguarding

Keeping children safe – a priority at Make Believe.
Make Believe is dedicated to providing a safe, secure and friendly environment for our students to learn. We are committed to providing training in the performing arts in a safe and protected environment. A vital part of the Make Believe Child Health and Safety procedure is that each school is run by a Branch Manager/ Principal, whose role is to supervise rather than teach. This ensures that while tuition is delivered by our specialist teachers, the Branch Manager is free to visit and observe all of the classes at the school.
Make Believe requires all of its Branch Managers, teachers and assistants to apply for enhanced clearance via the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and its structure is often used as an example of Best Practice where Child Protection issues are concerned. We have a duty of care to safeguard all children involved in Make Believe activity from harm. All children have a right to protection and the needs of disabled children and others who may be particularly vulnerable will always be taken into account. Make Believe will always ensure the safety and protection of all children involved at any of our schools, events and/or productions.
Parents can be confident that our students health and safety will always be our number one priority.
